Gunfight at Wabgai

Two militants killed:

Imphal, Apr 25: Two militants were killed on Friday in a gunfight with Assam Rifles personnel in interior Thoubal district of Manipur.

Official sources said the gunfight took place after the personnel of Assam Rifles's 21st battalion saw some persons moving suspiciously at around 5.30 am when patrolling Wabgai Buffalo Farm area.

They began to fire when asked to stop, sources said, adding that two militants were killed in the ensuing encounter. Others escaped during the gunfight at the location, about 40-km south-east from here.

The bodies were brought to Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital here for post-mortem and identification.

Inter-State buses suspend service: Imphal, May 4: Following the All Manipur Inter-State Bus Services Association (AMISBSA)'s decision to suspend buses services indefinitely due to 'heavy' monetary demands from various elements, all buses plying along the National Highways have suspended service from Sunday. The association has been compelled to take the decision owing to various elements, undergrounds and overgrounds demanding heavy amount of money from the transporters, a spokesman of the association told media persons on Sunday evening. Murder in Mumbai!

Manipuri girl found dead Imphal/Mumbai, July 15 : A 27-year-old Manipuri girl working as a customer relationship manager in a Mumbai five star hotel was found dead in her hostel at Marol in Andheri shortly after midnight on Friday.
