National Road Cycling Championship: H Renubala and K Suchitra respectively pedalled to one silver and a bronze each on the third day of the 13th National Road Cycling Championship at Erode district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Renubala's silver medal came in the 50 km road mass start event in the Under-19 girls’ category while the bronze won by Suchitra was in the senior girls' 75 km road mass start. Manipur has, so far, garnered two gold, four silver and two bronze medals. National Tent Pegging Meet: ITBP riders raced ahead of ASC Centre (North) on the medal count as Hc Shashidharan picked his second gold on the third day of the National Tent Pegging Championship at Imphal Polo Ground on Saturday. FLAM to clash KVFA in final: Imphal, Dec 27: FLAM edged out ATVFA 5-3 via tie-breaker and KVFA pipped VSAI 1-0 in semi-final matches of the 2nd North East Cup Veteran Football tournament at THAU Sports Complex on Thursday. As the first semi-final between FLAM and ATVFA ended 1-1 draw after normal period, Tarpon, Bobo, P Sunil and O Ibomcha scored for the Yaiskul veterans from the spot while only Rajen and Abdul Wahid were successful for the losers. AMWJU GBM on Thursday: An emergency general body meeting of the All Manipur Working Journalists Union, AMWJU, has been convened on Thursday at 10:30 am at Manipur Press Club, Imphal. This is in connection with two statements received at media offices from the KCP (MC) group. KVFA, FLAM register wins: Imphal, Dec 18: Maniratan’s 16th minute goal helped KVFA, Khurai, register a facile 1-0 win over VSAC, Churachandpur, while FLAM, Yaiskul, overwhelmed Chingtam, Chingmeirong , 4-2 in league matches of the 2nd North East Cup veteran football tournament at THAU Sports Complex on Tuesday. The FLAM goals were netted by N Bobo (3rd), E Ratan (39th) and G Gaitharung (60th, 78th) while S Bungomacha (37th) and Athui Rongmei (73rd) bridged the score deficit for the Chingmeirong veterans. On December 20, SUVFA, Singjamei, will play CBVT, Chingoi Baruni, at 12 noon while ATVFA and VSAI, Thangmeiband, face each other at 2 pm.

FLAM defeat Khurai in NE Cup opener: Imphal, Dec. 14: Football Lover’s Association Manipur (FLAM), Yaiskul, launched their title defence on a winning note defeating Khurai Veteran Football Association (KVFA) 2-0 in the opening match of the 2nd North East Cup 2007 veteran football tournament at Thangmeiband Athletic Union Sports Complex ground here on Friday. N Bobo scored the opener for FLAM, firing in a cross from E Ratan 16 minutes into the match and Gaidimlung Kamson doubled the advantage in the 50th minute.
