National Road Cycling Championship:
H Renubala and K Suchitra respectively pedalled to one silver and a bronze each on the third day of the 13th National Road Cycling Championship at Erode district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
Renubala's silver medal came in the 50 km road mass start event in the Under-19 girls’ category while the bronze won by Suchitra was in the senior girls' 75 km road mass start.
Manipur has, so far, garnered two gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
National Tent Pegging Meet:
ITBP riders raced ahead of ASC Centre (North) on the medal count as Hc Shashidharan picked his second gold on the third day of the National Tent Pegging Championship at Imphal Polo Ground on Saturday.
Shashidharan culled 27.5 points to make the top podium finish in the individual sword event as ASC's Nk Shinde RT secured the silver on 26.5 point followed by his unit-mate Sub Omprakash in third place with a total of 23 points.
In the day's other competition, Punjab Police rider Sub-Inspector Jaswinder Singh won the individual tent pegging lemons & pegs (2 runs) with a tally of 72+36 points relegating Hc Jaswinder Singh of the BSF (72+6) to the silver medal position.
Hc Makhan Singh, also of BSF secured the bronze medal on 30 point.
Enormous potential for Equestrian in Manipur:
The National Tenth Pegging Championship currently underway in Manipur is turning out to be one of the most keenly contested National Championship ever.
The Manipur Equestrian Meet saw altogether participation from 60 riders from across the country.
Speaking to NE TV during the 3rd day of the championship, Officials of Competition said the Manipur has enormous potential for growth & development of the Equestrian.
In terms of the level of competition as well as in terms of the ground, facilities and overall enthusiasm, the Pegging National has been a good competition reveals the Director of the Competition and Technical delegate, Brigadier KS Rao.
The level of competitiveness in the Championship is very high with each rider working hard on acceleration, agility and concentration, the three cornerstones of Tenth Pegging.
Riders are awarded points according to their performance. Six points are given to a rider to successes in piercing the peg and carrying in on the run.

FLAM wrest NE Cup:
A Tapan's second half goal from the penalty spot helped FLAM, Yaiskul clinch the 2nd North East Cup Veterans' Football tournament at THAU Sports Complex at Imphal on Saturday.
The all important goal was scored in the 55th minute after the referee pointed to the dreaded spot to penalise P Ranjit of KVFA, Khurai for handling the ball inside the danger zone.
The champions walked home richer by Rs 20,000 while the runners-up KVFA had to be content with Rs 10,000 prize purse.
FLAM's Fazur Rahman was named best player of the final while the competition's best scorer title went to M Samarjit of VSAI, Thangmeiband.
All India Inter-Zonal Handball:
Manipur eves stormed into the semi-finals of the 12th All India Inter Zonal Handball Tournament with three victories on the opening day in Kolkata on Saturday while the men's team had a mixed luck.
The women's team beat Orissa 20-9, routed Best Bengal 17-4 and blanked Karnataka 15-0 to reach the semis.
In contrast, the men's team suffered 29-35 loss to MP and beat West Bengal 17-12. They will play Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
