Fed Up of UGs!

Heirok adamant: Imphal, Apr 27: Reaffirming its tough stand against the UG groups, JAC Heirok warned its locals not to help even a single coin to any UG group. Any family found helping UG groups must accept whatever punishment Heirok people award them, cautioned a statement issued by its general secretary L Mandir. Maintaining that PREPAK is still intimidating the villagers of Heirok despite their apology regarding the fateful incident of March 24 night, the statement further informed that the DI-Tata and Jeep services between Heirok-Thoubal and Heirok-Wangjing have been cancelled from April 20 due to monetary demands made to the vehicle owners by the outfit. Conveying that they would face all the consequences, JAC also urged the vehicle owners to resume service from April 28. Ambush in Thoubal

Two cops hurt: Imphal, Dec 20: One Police Commando and one IRB personnel sustained injuries following heavy exchange of firing between underground activists and Thoubal Police Commandos at Salungpham under Thoubal Police Station at around 12.10 pm on Thursday. According to information culled from the site of the incident, at around 7 am on Thursday, Thoubal Police intercepted report of factional clashes involving PREPAK cadres including one ‘Sidaba’ who is the Thoubal District Commander of the outfit at Ukhongshang. Consequently, four teams of Police Commandos led by OC Kishore- chand rushed to the area. However, as they could not find anything amiss there inspite of searching the area thoroughly, the Commando teams turned back. As they approached Salungpham market, the Commando teams saw the villagers here and there in panic.
