Protestors’ march to Assembly stopped: Imphal, Feb 4: Protestors who were marching toward the Assembly demanding immediate withdrawal of the move being made by the State Government to acquire over 512 acres of land from Malom and its surrounding area in connection with the proposed expansion of Tulihal Airport were stopped by the police leading to a confrontation and traffic jam at Keishampat Junction here on Monday. In case the Government fails to come up with a definite stand on the issue at the earliest possible, the JAC formed in this connection has threatened to step up its stir along with the support of other social organisations. Responding to the call of the JAC Against Acquisition of Land for Expansion and Expansion of Imphal Tulihal Airport, a large number of protestors started marching toward the Assembly from Kwakeithel Bazar area at around 12.30 pm on Monday.
