Rebel MLAs return for Assembly session: Imphal, Jan 30: The dissident Congress MLAs who were lobbying with the party high command for a change in the state CLP leadership returned to Imphal on Wednesday, exuding confidence of a successful conclusion to their campaign to oust Okram Ibobi Singh in the near future. Barring MPCC chief Gaikhangam and minister DD Thaisii, all the dissident MLAs, 14 in number, flew into Imphal this afternoon on an Air India flight. The dissident MLAs came back in the state only to attend the budget session of the state Assembly which is due to commence on February 1 and their return does not mean an end to their campaign for replacing Ibobi as chief minister, said a source in the dissident camp. Before leaving the national capital, they submitted representations to the Congress high command urging to settle the crisis within the party at the earliest. ‘Rebels’ leave for Delhi: Imphal, Dec 15: To continue their political camp at Delhi, twelve rebel MLAs left Imphal on Saturday. Staying there, the rebel MLAs will be insisting upon AICC leaders including North East in-charge Prithiviraj Chauhan to remove O Ibobi from the post of Manipur Chief Minister. The MLAs who left for Delhi on Saturday include Govindas Konthoujam, T Mangibabu, Dr Kh Ratankumar, W Brajabidhu, I Hemochandra, L Nandakumar, M Hemanta, M Oken, M Manindra, Y Surchandra, Meghachandra and Bijoy Koijam. AICC North East in-charge Prithiviraj Chauhan who noted opinions of the both the dissident camp and supporters of Chief Minister O Ibobi during his visit to the State recently will be submitting his report to the AICC high command on his arrival at Delhi from Karnataka. ‘Rebel’ MLAs return on confident note: Imphal, Dec 8: After camping for about a month at Delhi to lobby with the AICC leadership to remove O Ibobi from the chair of Chief Minister, twelve dissident Congress MLAs returned to Imphal on Saturday riding a wave of confidence. However just to make sure that there are no last minute hiccups, the rebels have decided to continue with their camp at Imphal too. The twelve Congress rebel MLAs who landed at Tulihal airport on an Indigo flight Saturday morning included I Hemochandra, Y Surchandra, M Hemanta, W Brajabidhu, Govindas Konthoujam, M Manindra, K Meghachandra, Bijoy Koijam, T Mangibabu, L Nandakumar, Kh Ratan Kumar and T Manga Vaiphei. The 12 MLAs were received by a team led by Heirok Assembly Constituency MLA M Okendra and others at the airport.
