JAC rejects public hearing: Imphal, Feb 5: Contending that the arrangement being made by the State Government to conduct a public hearing in connection with the proposal of setting up NIT at Langol Lamphelpat on February 7 is unreasonable, chairman of JAC for Protection of Residential Area and Preservation of Lamphelpat Wetlands, Kim Gangte has expressed apprehension of a hidden agenda in the move of the Government. Addressing a press conference in this connection at Manipur Press Club here on Tuesday afternoon, Kim Gangte said that the notification issued by the State Government through a local English newspaper only on January 18 announcing the public hearing at DC Imphal West on February 7 and invitation for written objection from those who oppose the construction of NIT at Langol was unreasonable and unacceptable.
