Hoarding removal: The Public Works Department, Government of Manipur, has announced that the hoardings and display boards erected along the outer moat of Kangla Fort adjacent to NH-39 between Raj Bhavan traffic island to Chief Minister's traffic island would be removed on January 10. Executive Engineer of National Highways Division No.II, PWD informed that the drive would be started from 8 am of January 10.All the owners have been asked to remove the sign boards and the hoardings on or before January 9. 15 wounded in critical condition, women take to streets: Imphal, Dec 17: Out of the 22 wounded in Sunday’s bomb blast and admitted in various hospitals, seven have been discharged while 15 remain in critical condition. Two of the injured, Takhellambam Kiran and Thounaojam Premkumar, have been admitted to the RIMS eye ward, while Okram Ingobi, 35, Konthoujam Michael, 20, Hekrujam Herojit, 28, Singam Premananda, 32, Wahengbam Bembem, 14, Singam Singhajit, 18, and Maibam Amar, 14, were admitted at RIMS ortho ward. Heikrujam Rasheswori, 42, Nambram Somorendro, 19 are in the RIMS surgery ward, Mayengbam Ibethoi, 32, in the RIMS female eye ward, while Thangjam Abung, 20, is being kept in the RIMS casualty for further observation. Another injured victim is currently at JN hospital while one more is at Shija Hospital. The bodies of all seven killed in the blast remain unclaimed at RIMS morgue till Monday, but as per the agreement with the JAC, the families would take them on Tuesday. Outraged...

Chauhan leaves Imphal, no comments on regime change: Imphal, Dec 13: Union Minister of State and AICC general secretary north east in-charge Prithivi Raj Chauhan left Imphal on Thursday after concluding his three-day visit to the state, making no comments on the question of regime change which rebel Congress MLAs are demanding. Even though he refused to comment on the crisis, replying to questions raised by journalists at the concluding part of the inspection, Chauhan said, "I am satisfied with the works progress". However, he refused to comment on the main purpose of his visit to the state, the question of replacement of Ibobi as chief minister of Manipur. Officially Chauhan came to Imphal to inspect the status of the implementation of works taken up in the state with Central funds under the Prime Minister`s package.
