Garbage Dumping at Cong Bhavan
DM students lodge novel protest: Imphal, Feb 5: Lodging a novel protest, perhaps the first of its kind in Manipur, the DM College Students' Union collected the dirt and garbage piled up inside their campus as well as at the entry gate of the institution and dumped them in front of Congress Bhawan and at the gate of the Education Minister L Jayanta, at Pishumthong on Monday night. Talking to The Sangai Express the students said that they were constrained to dump the garbage in front of the powers that be as repeated appeals to remove the same had fallen on deaf ears. The students further said that one of them was pulled up by the police on Tuesday, but he was released later. A case has also been registered with the Singjamei police station, they said and added that they strongly condemn the act.
