Another revolt after 55-year old man shot dead:

Imphal, Apr 24: Refusing to hear the repeated pleas from his son, a 55-year-old man was shot dead in his son's presence late Wednesday night at Lilong Chajing Loukon under Singjamei police station.

The broken hearted 25-year-old son has refused to even drink water and is now lying in bed being administered drips since last night. The aged parents and other members of the family of the deceased are also shattered at the loss and were hospitalized today in Imphal.

Outraged over the killing of the local man, people of Lilong Chajing and Lilong Shantipur have decided to boycott all underground organizations and ban their entry into the area.

They also commenced a total indefinite blockade on the Imphal-Moreh section of the NH-39 from 11.30 am today. Hundreds of them turned out on the street along the highway and blocked the traffic for the day.

Haorangbam Robi Meitei, son of Achao of Lilong Kongjeng Leikai was shot to death by two armed suspected militants who called him out from his home on the plea of guiding them to a road leading to Mayai Lambi last night at around 9.30 pm.

"My brother was called out at around 9 pm (last night) by the two gunmen on the pretext of leading them to a road to Mayai Lambi. Before they left with my brother, the duo said that they did not want to go on the main road with the arms in their possession," the younger brother of the deceased Robi said while recounting the incident last night.

The eldest of two sons of Robi followed his father on seeing the weapons in the hands of the men and on seeing them about to use the guns on his father, pleaded several times touching their feet. The pleas were, however, in vain, he lamented.
