Focus on Crime Against Women
International women’s fortnight winds up:
Imphal, Dec 13: With a call for greater participation of women in the decision making process, the observance of the International Fortnight Protesting Crime Against Women being organised by Women Action for Development (WAD) concluded on Thursday.
The valedictory function of the observance was held at Nupi Lan Memorial Complex here with Member of Manipur State Commission for Women Laljan Begum as chief guest and senior journalist Kangujam Madhumangol Singh as functional president.
Secretary of CVTC Haobam Surendra, Editor of Ereibak Arun Irengbam, Reader of DM College Silaramani and Field Officer of CASA OJ Meitei were also present at the occasion as guests of honour.
Giving the key note address of the function, WAD secretary Subita Mangsatabam observed that the incidents of crime against women taking place in the Manipuri society today has caused serious impediment in the developmental pace of the State.
