Mishap Takes Manipuri’s Life

Cyclist dies after accident:

Namakkal (Tamil Nadu), Dec 25: Tragedy struck the Manipuri cycling team when its member Huidrom Tombisana Devi on Tuesday succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident on Sunday.

Twentyfive-year-old Devi, a police constable, was part of the 17-member Manipuri team to compete in the National cycling Championship, to be held here from December 27 to 31.

She was on a practice session along with her mates on the Tiruchngode road when she fell down and sustained injuries on her head while avoiding a dog that suddenly ran across the road, police said.

The Manipuri, who was admitted to the Namakkal Government hospital on December 23, died this morning, police said.

The body would be handed over to the Manipur team authorities after post-mortem, they said.

Inter-State buses suspend service: Imphal, May 4: Following the All Manipur Inter-State Bus Services Association (AMISBSA)'s decision to suspend buses services indefinitely due to 'heavy' monetary demands from various elements, all buses plying along the National Highways have suspended service from Sunday. The association has been compelled to take the decision owing to various elements, undergrounds and overgrounds demanding heavy amount of money from the transporters, a spokesman of the association told media persons on Sunday evening. Murder in Mumbai!

Manipuri girl found dead Imphal/Mumbai, July 15 : A 27-year-old Manipuri girl working as a customer relationship manager in a Mumbai five star hotel was found dead in her hostel at Marol in Andheri shortly after midnight on Friday.
