AMOFA stun Manipur Police:

Imphal, Dec 23: AMOFA, Moirang stunned Manipur Police by a solitary goal even as NEROCA (Laipham Khunou), SSU (Singjamei) and YWC (Thambalkhong) defeated their respective opponents, while KFC, Kakching and PYC, Phoudel split points after
a 2-2 draw in the 2nd Manipur State League football competition matches played on Sunday.

While 51st CC Meet runners-up AMOFA pulled off a major upset defeating formidable MPSC on a 28th minute goal scored by S Stephen at Moirang, recently crowned CC Meet champions NISA, Thangmeiband suffered 0-2 defeat at home turf (Sekmai) to NEROCA with Ksh Malemnganba (15th) and Amarjit (70th) netting the Laipham Khunou side's goals.

The day saw SSU record the highest score margin of victory by outclassing visitors ESU, Wangkhei 5-1 at Chajing ground with Kh Ratan (11th), W Dhananjoy (18th), Gaichungam Kamson (43rd) and Nepolian (52nd, 57th) figuring among the hosts' goals.

Visitors TRAU were handed a 1-0 defeat by YWC at Thambalkhong when Kh Bopichand headed in the decisive goal 10 minutes from time.

In the 2-2 draw between KFC and Phoudel's PYC at Kakching, Joseph Thanghilal netted a brace (14th, 71st) for the former while the visitors struck through K Beningthar Monsang (17th) and David Ngaihte (83rd).

Inter-State buses suspend service: Imphal, May 4: Following the All Manipur Inter-State Bus Services Association (AMISBSA)'s decision to suspend buses services indefinitely due to 'heavy' monetary demands from various elements, all buses plying along the National Highways have suspended service from Sunday. The association has been compelled to take the decision owing to various elements, undergrounds and overgrounds demanding heavy amount of money from the transporters, a spokesman of the association told media persons on Sunday evening. The spokesman said transporters, mainly passenger buses, are facing many problems due to the heavy imposition of monetary demands and 'taxes' by different underground groups operating in both hills and valley districts. Murder in Mumbai!

Manipuri girl found dead Imphal/Mumbai, July 15 : A 27-year-old Manipuri girl working as a customer relationship manager in a Mumbai five star hotel was found dead in her hostel at Marol in Andheri shortly after midnight on Friday.
