Vents anger over delay in sewage works:

Imphal, Dec 24: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh showed a glimpse of his temper before mediapersons om Monday after learning that development works being taken up in Imphal city were not being taken up to satisfaction during his absence from the state.

The CM, who spoke with mediapersons after giving away ex-gratia cheques to the next of kin of those killed in the Pourabi blast of December 16, thumped the conference table in his office chambers in anger and harangued the concerned minister on the telephone after he was told that night shift work on the Imphal sewerage project had stopped for around a week while he was in New Delhi.

The chief minister who instructed the PHED minister to convene an emergency meeting immediately on the matter, railed against the stoppage of work, and declared that full payment would be made the very same day that work is completed.
